I bought some Red paint and some cute fabric at WalMart and got to work.

 I actually don’t have pictures for the grueling process of taking the back off and nailing all the pieces back together.  I almost gave up when it fell into 6 different pieces. 

I wrapped the material around the back piece.  And though you can’t tell here this board is ACCIDENTLY nailed to my hardwood floor!  I was devasted when I realized the nails when all the way through to the floor!!!  YIKES

Luckily Hubs was able to pull it up and the nail holes are barely noticeable.  THANK GOODNESS!!!! 

Here is the final product!  It’s a plate rack/shelf.

I can’t imagine why anyone would ever make a Lifetime Original movie about me but if they do I believe this should be the opening scene.  I hope you watch it, I hope you enjoy it and I hope it isn’t about a crazy woman that murdered her husband.

Men suck.  Just saying. 

My word count is 72 now.  I wonder if I can continue typing until I hit 100 words.  A 100 word blog post.  Wow I’m amazing.  This just goes to show that there is nothing I can’t accomplish.  I, in fact, have just hit the 108 word mark.  I freaking rock.

Maybe I’ll just keep typing until I hit 200 words!  Then you’ll really be inspired.  Speechless.  In total awe of my wit and amusing quibs.  Or maybe I’ll just stop right here at 155 words.  Why not?  Be a quitter.  There’s nothing wrong with being a quitter… some times… when you aren’t good at what your doing any way.  As a matter of fact I think quitting should be more encouraged.  Why not?  If something sucks why not just quit it?  Why continue doing something you hate.  Seriously, I just hit 210 words.  There is no end to my brillance.  Now… I Quit.

I immediately thought one of them would be a nice companion for the chair I reupholstered a couple weeks ago.  (See that here)  So I decided to give it a little paint, a little fabric and a little TLC this weekend. 

I used a glossy white spray paint and didn’t prime it or use a heavy coat because I wanted to keep the wood grain look.

Of course as always I had great help!

Here’s the finished product! 

And close up shots of the lamp shade I recovered.  I had no idea what I was doing but once I found a needle and thread I figured the rest out. 

 I found the material and cute ruffle at JoAnn’s fabric.

And here’s the final shot with the chair.  A nice little set if you ask me! 

This project was very cheap and very easy.  I have several more items lined up to do something fun with so stay tuned!

 Rock Jock – Mommy is Sweet!

It was a fun day for the family.  They had several activities for the kids… blow up slides, arts and crafts, and oh goodness hair paint!  I knew I wasn’t going to get out of letting the boys get their hair painted a crazy color so I decided to not even try and fight it. 

I hope it comes out before school tomorrow!!      

  Noah decided to participate in the walk with me which made me very proud.  John Parker is too young still to be trusted to walk 3 miles without asking to be carried a half mile in so he stayed and continued playing with his dad.

I’ll admit I was a bit surprised when we got to the half mile mark.  I was SURE we had gone at least a mile and half already!  Boy, I could really tell how out of shape I am starting to get by not being more active this year.  By the time we got to the finish line I was in the groove though.  Noah was also very proud of himself for finishing.  He got ahead of me once and very sweetly too a break on the curb to wait for me. 

I was very proud to watch Noah cross the finish line.

This was a lot of fun.  The next walk is the Liz Hurley Breast Cancer walk in October.  I think we are going to do that one too.  Man I hope I’m not too sore tomorrow.  I have a feeling I’m going to have painful legs tomorrow.  Oh well… it was worth it.
